iPad, your most convenient travel companion, is even more convenient with eSIM. eSIM enabled iPad allows you to get a cellular data plan straight from your device – no need to swap out physical SIM cards or to rent pocket WiFi devices.

How to Use eSIM with iPad

You can set up a cellular data plan with an eSIM with these cellular-enabled iPad models:

  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch starting from 2018
  • iPad Pro 11-inch starting from 2018
  • iPad Air starting from 2019
  • iPad mini starting from 2019
  • iPad starting from 2019

Learn how your iPad connects to cellular data.

Set up a GigSky data plan on your eSIM enabled iPad

  • If you’re setting up your first plan on your iPad, go to Settings > Cellular Data > Set Up Cellular Data. If you’re setting up another plan on your iPad, go to Settings > Cellular Data > Add a New Plan.
  • Choose a carrier – GigSky.
  • Choose a data plan that’s best for you and create an account, or add your iPad to an existing plan.
  • Tap Confirm.

***Helpful hint: If you see a screen that asks for a QR code or SMTP address, you’re in the wrong place. Backtrack until you can access the Add Data Plan feature and select GigSky. From here you can choose the data plan that is best for you.

Your plan should activate in a few moments

GigSky plans are completely transparent. No additional taxes or fees ever. Need info on cellular data plans and coverage for iPad: iPad plans.

*PLEASE NOTE: To make your data plan last longer, use WiFi where safe. Turn off automatic app updates and update only over WiFi. Want to make calls on your iPad? – Use WiFI Calling.

Some countries and regions might restrict local residents from signing up for cellular data plans. Check with your carrier for details.

* eSIM on iPad is not offered in China mainland.
